                                LOOPS FOR THE TROOPS

The RAUSI. Foundation is pleased to announce they are the official charity for the 2009 Loops for the Troops Race on Fathers Day - Sunday, June 21. Michael Hornburg, the father of Corporal Nathan Hornburg of The King's Own Calgary Regiment founded this annual charity run in memory of his son who was born on Fathers Day. The Loops for the Troops raised over $125,000.00 in 2008 and had over 1500 participants.

There are many options for participation this year including a 10 K and 5K race and a Military Mile (1.6 K) walk. For those who are physically unable to participate or are unable to attend, a “Running In Spirit” option is available.

Charitable donations in support of the Loops for the Troops can be made “here” or by sending your donation payable to The RAUSI Foundation, Mewata Armoury, 801 -11 Street SW, Calgary, AB T2P 2C4. Corporate Sponsorship opportunities are also available and range from $1,000 to $10,000. Information packages are available here. Tax receipts will be issued for donations in excess of $20.00.

Donations received by The RAUSI Foundation in support of the Loops for the Troops race will be used to provide grants to local charitable initiatives including the Cpl. Nathan Hornburg Memorial Scholarship at Mount Royal College, the Military Family Resource Centre and Peacekeeper Park Wall of Honour.
