The Royal Alberta United Services Institute (RAUSI) was incorporated on the 14th day of May 1920 as the Alberta Military Institute, headquartered at the Mewata Armoury in the City of Calgary (as described on the heraldic dedication on the south wall of the Mewata Officers’ Mess). Next year will mark 100 years of being UNITED THROUGH SERVICE as our motto describes. We invite all who are interested to participate in the planning and implementation of this momentous occasion. If you know of any former members, who you think would enjoy celebrating our Centennial Anniversary with us, please reach out to them and invite them to join us in the near future.
Planning needs to start now for organizing events. There have been many ideas and proposals floated over the past couple of years, now it is time to act!
RAUSI wants to form a Centennial Planning Committee and the Institute is looking for a Chairperson and other volunteers from the Membership to organize, plan and coordinate various events and activities.
Things being considered, and open for suggestions include:
- RAUSI Centennial Scotch
- RAUSI Centennial Challenge Coin
- A Centennial Dinner (mixed/formal/location?)
- Canada Post Distinctive Stamp
- Commemorative items/clothing for all members
- Legacy project such as a statue or plaque
- Centennial Logo design · Unique Beer Label
Sponsor an event in the name of RAUSI
There are many other options available for consideration and any and all ideas are welcome. First and foremost is forming the Centennial Planning Committee. If you are interested please contact Carmen in the Office.
