RAUSI Announcements

10 September, 2020

This is a message to our Members that Carmen Lawson, our Office Administrator of the past four years, gave two weeks’ notice 1 September. She stated that she would be leaving for personal reasons.

Carmen Lawson has been the face of the Institute. If you dropped into the office at Mewata Armoury, or if you attended the luncheons at the Danish Canadian Club or the socials at the Garrison Officers Mess, it was Carmen who greeted you, took your attendance and your admissions fee.

Carmen’s last function with the Board of Directors was Thursday 10 September where The Board recognized her past four years' work. Thank you Carmen for your past four years’ service to the Institute and Foundation.

Ms. Angela Craig of AC Design has been contracted as the replacement publisher of the quarterly newsletter, working with Major Bruce Henwood (Ret'd) who continues as the editor of the newsletter and Journal. Ms. Craig had previously been contracted in August to further develop the website.

We have contracted a bookkeeper, who is also an instructor on SAGE 50 Accounting, to take over the books effective 1 November. I will hold off on her name as the Board has not been introduced to her as I write this in late October. She will be reporting to Major Joe Howard (Ret'd) our Secretary – Treasurer.

Ms. Tokie Brideaux has been contracted as our media specialist and is working on our Brand recognition. A committee has been formed to work as a group. A new product called “Dispatches” will be coming to an email box near you in short order!

The Executive Committee is not planning on hiring a secretary or office administrator at this time. The Board is working through many concurrent issues and we expect to have positive results on many fronts for our Members.

Mark Soehner, CD
President
